I have had so many different designs of water bottles fall by the wayside for various reasons: leaking, losing the lid, not fitting in my knapsack pocket and for obvious reasons, I will not use the plastic disposable, filling up the landfill site bottles. The Grayl water bottle was funded by a kickstarter campaign and designed by two Seattle-area entrepreneurs who believe they’ve created the world’s best portable water filter. I didn’t realize how many preconceived notions I had about the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador. When I booked my trip, I was looking forward to seeing animals, sea life and a few birds in their natural habitat but I wasn’t prepared for the vast numbers of sea lions, marine iguanas as well as the great variety of spectacular birds.
